Bereavement Counselling

Bereavement, grief and loss are something we all experience at some point in our lives. How we navigate and understand that loss is unique to each of us.

Grief is a natural process but sometimes we can get stuck, overwhelmed. Sometimes it just feels different. Why am I so sad this time? Why am I not sad this time? Losing someone close can be incredibly painful and confusing. It can bring up so many questions and confusing emotions.

Having spent a number of years working for a Bereavement service I can help you navigate this difficult time. I understand the unique challenges this can bring up. That every loss is different. There is no right way to grieve, I can help you find your way.

We can experience grief at many points in our lives:

  • The death of someone close

  • The breakdown of a relationship or the beginning of a new one

  • Leaving or starting a job

  • The end of school, college, university

  • Becoming an adult, parent, sibling, carer

  • Moving to a different house, home, city or country

  • Any major life event

The process of grief can bring up many considerations:

  • An examining of your life

  • Questioning what is truly important to you, what you want from life and what gives your life meaning

  • Relationships, to those gone, to those still here, and to yourself

  • What to do now?
